A visual and sound odyssey at the Jardin des Enfeus

In the enchanting setting of the Jardin des Enfeus, the centuries-old walls of the former abbey are illuminated to bring the history of the Périgord to life.

“Sarlat, Lights of the Périgord” is a visual and audio odyssey, a spectacular journey into the heart of the Sarlat region and the landscapes of the Périgord Noir.

Through striking 3D effects, stone becomes a cave, a river, foliage, a manuscript, or a Renaissance façade.

From the dawn of time to the frescoes of Lascaux, from troubadours to humanist thinkers, from wars to restored peace, Sarlat reveals all its historical and cultural richness. We discover its ties with the kings of France, the free-thinking of Étienne de La Boétie, and the region’s deep attachment to its traditions, such as that of the black truffle.

The show also celebrates the natural and artistic wonders of the Sarlat region, from the hanging gardens and the founding rivers to the contemporary doors designed by Jean Nouvel.

At the crossroads of memory and modernity, “Sarlat, Lights of the Périgord” is a poetic, sensory, and captivating immersion, where the past illuminates the future.
